I believe in meeting each client where they are at currently and taking time to understand each person’s unique story. You may come to a spot where you feel stuck in your story and unable to move forward. You find yourself feeling overwhelmed, burdened, and have difficulty connecting with others. Alec Smith, LPC
I believe that therapy is not the process of fixing a problem, but rather it’s a space to strengthen one’s sense of self. My goal as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to provide support through conversation and interventions that empower clients to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
Prior to becoming a mental health therapist, I was a High School Algebra teacher. In my time as an educator, I gained valuable experience working on a team to provide the best support for my students. My time in academics provided the foundation for my transition into mental health.
I currently work with clients aged 14-65 and have experience in the following areas: anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief and adjustment-related concerns. I utilize a range of treatment modalities based on client needs including CBT, DBT, ACT, and Mindfulness. I have advanced training in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based form of therapy that has been proven to be the most effective form of treatment when it comes to managing symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and can even help with PTSD, phobias, and panic disorders.
In my free time I am also a yoga instructor, soccer coach, and musician. I play a variety of instruments including the guitar, piano, bass, and drums. I enjoy music, would call myself a movie buff and I am an avid concert goer. I look forward to collaborating with you and supporting your personal growth and wellness.

Ari Kollangi, LPCC
When it comes to life and problems with living, we should not suffer nor be satisfied with the mediocre but strive for the very best possible. I believe that with intentional collaboration and problem-solving between therapist and client, life quality and personal satisfaction increases. Together we will identify your goals while developing a treatment plan that meets your needs and focuses on personal growth.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts and my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Central Florida. I have extensive experience in community and agency settings working with children, adolescents, adults and families within a multisystemic approach.
I currently provide counseling services to children (11+) through adults (65) with specializations in marriage and family therapy, couples counseling, and parenting interventions/support. I take a multisystemic therapy (MST) approach while also utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions in my work with clients.
In my free time I enjoy watching comedies, exploring local trails with my wife, children and puppy Olive while learning more about life in and around Cleveland, Ohio. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you and provide support as you strive toward making life better.
Giang Tran, LPCC
Two things can exist at once: life is messy AND you can have a safe and collaborative space to work through it. As a clinician, I believe in meeting my clients where they are at and empowering each person from a strength-based approach. Starting counseling can be challenging (it’s not easy telling your innermost thoughts to a stranger!) and I aim to have a non-judgmental, genuine, affirming, and accepting space. My goal as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to provide evidence-based practices to foster your personal growth and to provide education on mental and emotional wellness.
I received my graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling from John Carroll University and have extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, and families on issues such as adjustment and transition concerns, ADHD, depression, anxiety, multicultural issues, stress, self-esteem, and with the LGBTQIA+ population. I currently provide services to individuals aged 16-40 utilizing therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and mindfulness; I tend to match my techniques to what works best for the client.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to new places with my partner, finding new ice cream spots, wandering around HomeGoods and Target, and calling my mom up to ask her for authentic Vietnamese recipes (which has been a struggle because my mom “measures with her heart”). I am excited to meet you and look forward to hearing your goals!
Abbey King, LPCC
“I deeply believe that we all have a story to be shared. By providing a person-centered and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, I hope to facilitate desired change and growth in your life. I try to never forget that first and foremost, I am a human in the therapy room, and I always try to keep it real.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University (We Are!) and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Waynesburg University. I have been licensed since 2017 and have practiced in Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Ohio. I have experience in in-home, community, and outpatient agency settings as well as private practice.
I currently help clients aged 14+ who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and complex trauma (PTSD), systemic family dysfunction, and addiction. I am fully trained in EMDR and currently working towards certification. I primarily utilize EMDR, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches in my therapeutic treatment.
In my free time, you will catch me on my Peloton, running, or exercising in some form. I love to read and listen to true crime podcasts. I also adore spending time with my husband, son, and our dog. I am excited for you to start your healing journey with me!
Kimberly Kotik, LPC
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe that creating a relationship with my clients is one of the most important parts of counseling. I strive to create a space where clients can be themselves while feeling safe and supported.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Walsh University and my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in community, school and hospital settings. I have extensive training in adolescent girls behavioral health and currently provide services to individuals aged 13-35 struggling with anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, suicidal ideation and self harm. I most commonly utilize CBT, DBT, mindfulness, creative art and play in my sessions.
I’m an avid Cleveland sports fan and you will often find me at a Cleveland Guardians game during the baseball season. My free time is spent with my new husband and our cats as well as my family including my amazing nieces. I look forward to meeting and supporting you through this next step in your journey.

Amy May, LPCC & AT
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from John Carroll University and my Master’s degree in Art Therapy Counseling from Ursuline College. My first job as a counselor was for the Domestic Relations Court providing therapy and teaching research-based curriculum to at-risk youth. I have had the opportunity to work in many different clinical and outpatient settings in my career.
Most of my time as a therapist has been in private practice settings, which has allowed me to create an individualized approach to my practice. I have over 17 years of experience providing therapeutic services to the adolescent and adult populations. I currently work with adolescents (14+) through adult ages with specializations in substance use disorders, anxiety and depression disorders, life changes, grief, parenting issues, and stress management. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the main component I use in treatment paired with a strong emphasis on sleep hygiene, diet, and exercise. There are a few things that we have control over in our lives and diet, exercise, and sleep are the top three that can have the biggest impact on one’s mental health.
In my free time I enjoy working out at Orangetheory, cooking, baking, hosting gatherings, and having fun with my family. I look forward to getting to know you and working towards a better version of yourself.
Jessica Platt, LPCC-S
I have learned in my years of being present with others is that healing and growth are not a linear process, but rather paths that are filled with detours, exits, obstacles, forks in the road, and situations we have no control over; one person’s process is different than the next person’s. I believe everyone’s individual journey should be honored and celebrated. I see therapy as a collaborative process where we can work together to unpack traumas, overcome adversities, and push through the tough to attain a clear perspective and healthier version of self. I look to meet others were they are at by working from an eclectic, strengths based, and person centered approach while utilizing evidenced based practices such as CBT and DBT. I do not believe therapy is a one size fits all model. Through the collaborative process, we will build an individual plan that best suits your needs to put you back on track to overall wellness, increased personal potential, and self-awareness.
I earned my Master’s Degree from Kent State University in Community Counseling in 2005. I am licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a supervisory designation (LPCC- S). I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and families. I have experience in intensive residential treatment, community and social services, crisis response, college settings, and in private practice. I have been on the administrative and direct practice ends of providing counseling services to others. I currently provide counseling services to people 12 years of age through adulthood in the areas of life transitions, stress and trauma, relationship concerns, mood disorders, anxiety, anger management, ADHD, and behavioral concerns. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, being creative through crafts and other projects, working out, and listening to and reading both fiction and nonfiction books. I welcome the opportunity to provide for you a safe space filled with compassion, support, and a nonjudgmental presence to help you progress towards living a more meaningful life.
Liana Wiley, LPC
Therapy is a big step. Because of this, I strive to use an empathetic and non-judgmental approach with all my clients. I highly prioritize creating a nurturing environment that fosters trust and allows individuals to feel heard and understood. I deeply believe that collaboration throughout therapy is the key to success. Together we can help you discover your own strengths and develop coping strategies that promote personal growth and resilience. My main goal is empowering you to live your best life in your own way.
I currently provide counseling services to individuals (16+) through adulthood. Working with others, especially during times of vulnerability, is a great privilege. I draw from a wide range of therapeutic techniques and tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. Balancing a variety of approaches, I am committed to providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals facing various challenges, such as anxiety, transition, educational or career concerns, multicultural issues, struggling to cope, low self-esteem, stress, relationship issues and many more.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends doing all sorts of fun things around town. From trying new restaurants to walking along trails to checking out museums and exhibits, I enjoy new and different experiences. I am also always looking for a new show to watch endlessly.
