Giang Tran, LPCC
Two things can exist at once: life is messy AND you can have a safe and collaborative space to work through it. As a clinician, I believe in meeting my clients where they are at and empowering each person from a strength-based approach. Starting counseling can be challenging (it’s not easy telling your innermost thoughts to a stranger!) and I aim to have a non-judgmental, genuine, affirming, and accepting space. My goal as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to provide evidence-based practices to foster your personal growth and to provide education on mental and emotional wellness.
I received my graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling from John Carroll University and have extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, and families on issues such as adjustment and transition concerns, ADHD, depression, anxiety, multicultural issues, stress, self-esteem, and with the LGBTQIA+ population. I currently provide services to individuals aged 16-40 utilizing therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and mindfulness; I tend to match my techniques to what works best for the client.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to new places with my partner, finding new ice cream spots, wandering around HomeGoods and Target, and calling my mom up to ask her for authentic Vietnamese recipes (which has been a struggle because my mom “measures with her heart”). I am excited to meet you and look forward to hearing your goals!
